How to play
Use your arrow keys (or swipe on mobile) to slide all tiles. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one with their sum. Reach the 2048 tile to win — or keep going for a higher score!
About 2048
2048 is a single-player sliding puzzle game created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014. The objective is to slide numbered tiles on a 4×4 grid, combining matching tiles to create a tile with the value 2048. The game is won when a 2048 tile appears, but players can continue beyond that for higher scores. Each move spawns a new tile (2 or 4) in a random empty spot. The game ends when no more moves are possible.
Tips & Strategy
- Keep your highest tile in a corner
- Build a chain of descending values along one edge
- Avoid pushing tiles away from your chosen corner
- Don't use the direction opposite to your corner unless forced
- Plan 2-3 moves ahead to avoid splitting your chain
