About Guess the Number

Guess the Number is a simple logic game where the computer picks a secret whole number between 1 and 100 and you try to find it. After each guess you're told whether the target is higher or lower, letting you close in on the answer. Using a smart "binary search" strategy — always guessing the middle of the remaining range — you can find any number in 7 guesses or fewer. Can you beat that?

Strategy tip

Start with 50. If the answer is higher, guess 75; if lower, guess 25 — always split the remaining range in half. This guarantees you'll never need more than 7 guesses for a range of 1–100.
