About Tetris

Tetris is the legendary falling-block puzzle created in 1984. Seven shapes — the tetrominoes — drop from the top of the well one at a time, and you slide and rotate each one into place. Fill an entire horizontal row and it clears, awarding points and making room. The pieces fall faster as you clear more lines and climb the levels, so it becomes a race between quick thinking and tidy stacking. Clearing four rows at once with the long I-piece is the coveted “Tetris”.

Tips

• Keep your stack flat and leave one column open for I-pieces.
• Use the Next preview to plan where the coming piece fits.
• Hard-drop with Space (or DROP) for extra points once you're sure of the spot.
