About Breakout

Breakout is the arcade classic that inspired a whole genre of brick-breaking games. A wall of bricks sits at the top of the screen, and you control a paddle at the bottom that bounces a ball upward. Every brick the ball touches is destroyed — clear them all to advance to the next level, where the ball moves a little faster. Where the ball strikes the paddle changes its angle, so you're always steering as much as reacting.

Tips

• Hit the ball with the edge of the paddle to send it out at a sharper angle.
• Try to punch a hole up one side so the ball rattles along the top row.
• You have three lives — losing the ball off the bottom costs one.
